Description

Summary:

AIDOL is Russia’s first domestically produced humanoid robot, unveiled in Moscow in November 2025 by AIDOL Robotics. Standing 183 cm tall and weighing 95 kg, it features AI-driven emotion reproduction, autonomous navigation, and up to 6 hours of runtime. Its debut became infamous when the robot collapsed on stage, symbolizing both the promise and fragility of early humanoid robotics. Despite the mishap, AIDOL represents Russia’s entry into the global humanoid race, aiming for public interaction, task automation, and AI research.

Editorial:

AIDOL blends anthropomorphic design with AI-powered autonomy, intended for service roles, education, and research labs. Its walking speed of 6 km/h, basic emotion reproduction, and speech interaction make it suitable for human-facing environments. The robot’s launch highlighted both Russia’s ambition and the technical challenges of humanoid robotics. While its fall drew international attention, the project underscores the nation’s determination to compete with global leaders like NAVIAI-I3 (China) and Moz1 (Spirit AI).
