Summary:
NAVIAI-I3 is the flagship humanoid robot developed by the Zhejiang Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, located in Haishu District, Ningbo. Unveiled in late 2024, the I3 model features 82 degrees of freedom, 2,250 TOPS AI processing, and a human-like frame designed for interaction, dexterity, and task execution in dynamic environments. It builds on the earlier Navigator 2 platform with enhanced motion, cognition, and expressiveness.
Editorial:
NAVIAI-I3 represents China’s most ambitious humanoid robot to date. Its high-precision joints, multi-modal sensors, and LLM-powered interaction enable it to perform complex tasks such as speech delivery, tea preparation, and chess playing—all while maintaining natural posture and movement. The robot’s AI stack integrates vision, language, and motor control, allowing it to generalize across tasks and environments.
The I3’s human-like proportions and expressive capabilities make it suitable for public-facing roles, research labs, and advanced automation. It’s already deployed in select Chinese factories for basic assembly work, and its developers are preparing for broader mass production. The robot’s design philosophy emphasizes embodied cognition, social compatibility, and adaptive learning.
NAVIAI-I3 is part of China’s national push toward humanoid robotics leadership, supported by SUPCON and Zhejiang University’s Robotics Lab.
