Robots in the main comparison table are limited to platforms an individual, lab, or small business can actually order today or pre-order with a published price and delivery window. We weighted four factors: (1) physical deployment numbers — units shipped, not units announced; (2) developer/SDK accessibility — whether the manufacturer exposes APIs, ROS support, or an SDK for third-party programming; (3) manufacturing lead time — the gap between order date and realistic delivery, cross-checked against manufacturer shipping reports and community forum delivery confirmations; and (4) total landed cost — base price plus typical import duties and shipping for a U.S. buyer, since several of these platforms ship from China. Robots that are not orderable by individuals at all (Tesla Optimus, Figure 03, Boston Dynamics Atlas) are covered separately in the Watch List section below, since combining "buy today" and "maybe in 2027" products in one table misleads readers about what's actually purchasable.
| Model | Price (USD) | Best For | Availability | Height | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Unitree R1 | $4,900–$5,900 | Ultra-budget / Entry | Shipping now / In stock | ~123 cm | ~25-29 kg |
| Unitree G1 | $13,500 (base; EDU edition higher) | Value / Research | Shipping now | ~132 cm | 35 kg |
| 1X NEO | $20,000 (or $499/mo) | Home use | Pre-order • US deliveries late 2026 | ~165 cm | ~30 kg |
| EngineAI T800 | $40,500+ (Basic) | Mid-range power | Pre-order / Shipments underway 2026 | ~173 cm | ~75 kg |
| Unitree H1 | ~$90,000+ (contact) | High-end performance | Contact / Available | ~180 cm | ~47 kg |
| Agility Digit | Contact (~$100K–$250K est.) | Industrial | Pilots / B2B | Industrial focus | ~65 kg |
Confirmed directly from Unitree's storefront: the base G1 is a flat $13,500, but it ships without secondary-development support — the SDK-enabled EDU edition is priced separately via sales contact. Shipping for the base G1 runs roughly $300–$1,200 depending on destination, with customs duties the buyer's responsibility. Always confirm current price and edition on shop.unitree.com before ordering.
These three dominate humanoid-robot search volume, but as of early August 2026 none of them is available for individual or general commercial purchase. We cover them here so you know exactly where each one stands — and why they aren't in the buyer's table above.
Tesla has not opened pre-orders, a waitlist, or a reservation system for Optimus as of early August 2026, and any third-party site offering to take a "pre-order" for it is not authorized by Tesla. Elon Musk's long-standing public target is a $20,000–$30,000 retail price. Low-volume production of Optimus (V3/Gen 3) began / is ramping in summer 2026 at Fremont, with units going first to Tesla's own factories. Limited external enterprise/industrial sales are targeted for late 2026, with a stated consumer-availability goal of end of 2027. Most independent industry analysts consider broad consumer availability more likely in 2028–2029 given Tesla's history of timeline slippage on this program.

Figure's robots remain in limited enterprise pilot deployments — including manufacturing work with BMW — rather than general commercial or consumer sale. Figure has scaled production of the Figure 03 (reports of 350+ to 1,000+ units manufactured by mid/late 2026) but has not published a timeline for opening sales beyond its existing enterprise partnerships, and pricing has not been made public. If you're comparing Figure to the platforms above: it sits in capability and ambition closer to the EngineAI T800 / Unitree H1 tier, but isn't purchasable by individuals or small labs at all today.

The electric Atlas humanoid is in pilot testing and committed 2026 deployments with Hyundai (Boston Dynamics' parent company) and partners such as Google DeepMind, with commercial launch publicly discussed for the 2026–2028 window. It is currently restricted to research partners and internal/committed testing, meaning there is no public retail price or consumer pre-order availability at this time.
