Agility Robotics has selected Nyobolt as the ultra-fast charging battery technology partner for its Digit 5 humanoid.
90 Minutes of Runtime, 9 Minutes of Charge
The companies announced on October 15 that the system is designed to deliver 90 minutes of runtime and recharge in 9 minutes, for a 10:1 run-to-charge ratio. That is an improvement from the 2:1 ratio Agility has attributed to Digit 4. The resulting duty cycle can support more than 20 hours of productive work in a 24-hour day, enough to cover more than two full shifts.
Early-Access Pilots Targeted for First Half of 2027
Early-access units with the Nyobolt system are targeted for warehouse operators in the first half of 2027, with broader availability expected over the following six to nine months.
What This Means for Humanoid Fleets
The partnership directly addresses a major constraint in humanoid fleets: downtime for charging. A 10:1 ratio leaves a high share of the day available for work if the robot can dock, charge, and return without long interruptions. Agility has existing commercial deployments of earlier Digit models at sites including Schaeffler, GXO, and Toyota facilities. Digit 5 is designed to expand that work into closer proximity to people and longer daily operation.
Key Performance Targets:
• 90 minutes runtime
• 9-minute recharge
• 10:1 run-to-charge ratio
• More than 20 hours of productive work per 24-hour day
Timing: Agility Prepares for Nasdaq Listing
Agility is completing its business combination with Churchill Capital Corp XI. The SEC has declared the S-4 registration statement effective. The deal values Agility at a $2.5 billion pre-money equity value and is expected to deliver more than $620 million in gross proceeds. The combined company is expected to trade on Nasdaq under the ticker AGLT by the end of the fourth quarter of 2026.
Real-World Testing in the Pilots
The 90-minute runtime and 9-minute charge are company targets for the system, not yet measured results from deployed Digit 5 units. Whether the 9-minute charge holds under real warehouse vibration, temperature, and duty cycles will be tested in the planned pilots. The announcement is a supplier selection for Digit 5’s power system.
